ABOUT
My name is Ross Van De Griek & I am the owner/founder of HSSportsFlorida which was launched on August 17, 2016. My main goal is to feature all high school athletes from across the Tampa Bay area, but I have recently been working on expanding my coverage throughout the state. Since August 2018, I have added a new focus onto HSSportsFlorida which features recruiting profiles on 3-star, 4-star & 5-star recruits across the state of Florida. Since November 2018, I have added more work to my already busy schedule, as I also serve as an assistant boys basketball coach at Wiregrass Ranch High School.
I grew up in North Carolina & lived there for the first 14 1/2 years of my life, before deciding to move to a new chapter in Florida. The reason why I started covering high school sports was just simple, started by becoming my high school’s sports reporter/journalist & have fell in love with the passion ever since. I graduated from Wiregrass Ranch High School on May 31, 2015 & served as a Graduate Assistant for the Wiregrass Ranch Boys Basketball program from November 2015-February 2018.
I am a huge sports fan, whether it’s the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, EPL, MLS, college football or college basketball, on the side you can catch me watching either sports or listening to music.
Hope to catch you at a game soon.
