Tampa Bay Top 10 High School Volleyball Rankings: Week 4

We are already entering the 4th week of the high school volleyball regular season. With all the tournaments that took place over the weekend expect some of the rankings to be shuffled a bit.


1. Bishop McLaughlin (9-0)

Last Week: Went 5-0 at the Bishop McLaughlin Invitational, defeating previous #1 Wharton in the championship match.

This Week: @ Santa Fe (Tues.)


Junior outside hitter Audrey Koening leads the team with 87 kills & 20 aces on the season & was named All-1st team at the Bishop McLaughlin Invitational over the weekend. The Hurricanes will face Santa Fe, who were the 6A State runner ups from 2018 tonight.


2. Calvary Christian (8-0)

Last Week: Went 4-0 at the Warrior Invitational, dropping only one set throughout the entire tournament.

This Week: vs Shorecrest Prep (Tues.), vs Carrollwood Day (Thu.), @ Berkeley Prep (Fri.)


Senior Cate Long leads the team with 113 kills & 12 serving aces on the season. Cate Long & freshman Lauren Cairo are tied for the team lead with 5 blocks this season.


3. Wharton (12-1)

Last Week: Finished as the Bishop McLaughlin Invitational runner-up, losing to Bishop McLaughlin in the championship match.

This Week: Defeated Bloomingdale in 3 sets (Mon.), @ Alonso (Tues.), @ Robinson (Thu.)


Senior outside hitter Jeanette Henderson is leading the team in kills (83), sophomore setter Gabrielle Frye is leading the team in aces (17) & senior Jamie Koopman is leading the team in blocks (24)


4. Berkeley Prep (6-2)

Last Week: Despite going 3-2 at the Warrior Invitational over the weekend, Berkeley Prep remains in the Top 5 in this week's rankings.

This Week: @ Carrollwood Day (Tues.), vs Calvary Christian (Fri.)


Junior middle hitter Camryn Carlo leads the team with 55 kills this season. Sophomore setter Jackeline Nerro leads the team with 18 serving aces this season.


5. St. Petersburg (8-0)

Last Week: Went 5-0 at the Keswick Invitational, defeating Shorecrest Prep in 3 sets to win the championship match.

This Week: @ Tarpon Springs (Tues.), vs Osceola (Thu.)


The Green Devils have only dropped one set the entire season, which came in last Saturday's win vs Shorecrest Prep. Junior Kate Youmans leads the team in kills (58), junior Nicole Robison leads the team in aces (19) & sophomore Jenna Davis leads the team in blocks. (18)


6. Clearwater Central Catholic (4-0)

Last Week: Defeated Shorecrest Prep (3-0) & defeated Northside Christian (3-1)

This Week: vs Tampa Bay HEAT (Tues.), @ Mercy (KY) (Thu.), Louisville Invitational (Fri.-Sat.)


Senior Linsey Harrison leads the team in kills (49), junior Kasey Singer leads the team in serving aces (9) & freshman Brooke Green leads the team in blocks (9). The Lady Marauders will be tested this week heading up to Louisville for one of the most premier volleyball tournaments in the Southeast.


7. Newsome (4-1)

Last Week: Defeated Celebration (3-1)

This Week: Defeated Durant (3-0), vs Strawberry Crest (Thu.)


The Lady Wolves volleyball team has won 2 straight matches since suffering their only loss of the season at Plant (8/29).

Junior Lindsay Adams leads the team in kills (40) & serving aces (14). Senior Hailey Adams leads the team in digs (51)


8. East Lake (5-1)

Last Week: Did Not Play

This Week: vs Mitchell (Tues.), @ Countryside (Wed.)


The Lady Eagles come into this week have not played a match in nearly 2 weeks, defeating Largo & Freedom in straight sets.

Senior Olivia Thompson leads the team in kills (51). Senior Maya Mullally leads the team in serving aces (15) & sophomore Olivia Aniol leads the team in blocks (10).


9. Steinbrenner (11-3)

Last Week: Went 4-1 at the Warrior Invitational, dropping their only match of the tournament to eventual champs Calvary Christian.

This Week: Defeated Alonso (3-0) (Mon.), @ Leto (Tues.), vs Riverview (Thu.)


Sophomore Nina Moorer leads the team in kills (112). Senior Pamela Delgado leads the team in serving aces (17). Junior Lilou Stegeman leads the team in blocks (22).


10. Robinson (3-1)

Last Week: Defeated Jefferson (3-0)

This Week: @ Blake (Tues.), vs Wharton (Thu.)


The Lady Knights have won 3 straight matches, since dropping the 1st match of the season to Bloomingdale (3-2).

The Lady Knights will play the first of 2 matches this week tonight @ Blake.


On The Bubble: Academy of the Holy Names (3-2), Carrollwood Day (7-4), Keswick Christian (7-2), Mitchell (6-3), Sunlake (3-1), Tampa Prep (5-2)
