On Wednesday evening, the ACC got one of the best runners in not just the Tampa Bay area, but the state of Florida. Riverview star Alyssa Hendrix announced her commitment to North Carolina State, where she is expected to run cross country & track for the Wolfpack.
Hendrix, is known for long distance events that feature the 800 meters, 1600 meters, 3200 meters & the 2 mile races.
Last season, Hendrix's personal best times featured 4:53.62 (1600m), 2:17.14 (800m), 10:36.35 (2 Mile), 10:32.60 (3200m) & 4:46.58 (1 Mile), according to FLRunners.com
Hendrix, told FLRunners.com on why she chose NC State. "The girls here are amazing, NC State is known for having a good cross country team & the campus made me feel like home."
Hendrix is expected to compete at the Foot Locker Nationals Southeast Regional, that will take place on November 30 in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Hendrix actually started her long distance, by not running cross country, she was also a former soccer player until her freshman year in high school. Hendrix joins IMG Academy's Lejond Cavazos as the two Sunshine State commits so far, as Cavazos committed to Ohio State back in September.
