On Tuesday night, one of the best long distance runners & track stars not just in the Tampa Bay area, but in the state of Florida announced her commitment, via social media to the University of Florida.
East Lake cross country & track star Parker Valby chose the Gators over North Carolina & Oregon.
As of last season, Valby averaged a 4:51.64 mile time, as well as a 2:16.98 (800 meters), 10:10.45 (2 mile time) & 18:20.90 (5000 meter time).
Valby, on her commitment to the University of Florida. "I love the coaches & the team is just flat out amazing, they have so much confidence in me to do well." Valby made official visits to North Carolina (September 26-28) & Oregon (September 2) before announcing her commitment to the University of Florida.

Valby, has plans to run both cross country & track at the University of Florida & is ranked in the Top 50 among the nation's best cross country runners, according to FLRunners.com that also features Riverview's Alyssa Hendrix who is an NC State commit.
