On Tuesday morning, IMG Academy junior running back Lovasea Carroll has cut his schools down to eight. The eight schools feature Alabama, Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi State, Ohio State, Penn State & Tennessee.
Carroll recently visited with the University of Florida over the weekend, where he told 247Sports that "the visit was dope, I got to experience College Gameday & that was a lot of fun."The atmosphere was electric, it was so loud that I started to get a headache", Carroll added.
Carroll, was originally committed to the University of South Carolina, before backing out last month, where he told me "there just wasn't enough depth at the running back position", as he would have had to compete with DeShawn Fenwick, Kevin Harris & Marshawn Lloyd, who is a 2020 commit from Maryland.
Carroll, holds a total of 18 offers throughout his recruiting process from notable schools such as Appalachian State, Army, Cincinnati, Florida State, Miami, Notre Dame, Samford, UCF & West Virginia.
Carroll, is listed as a 4-star prospect, as well as the 8th ranked running back in the nation for the 2021 class, according to 247Sports.com. Carroll is also the 20th overall ranked prospect in his home state of Georgia, according to 247Sports.com.
So far this season for IMG Academy, Carroll has played in 4 games where he has 27 carries, for 367 rushing yards & has 4 rushing touchdowns. Carroll also has 4 catches, for 51 receiving yards & has a receiving touchdown.
Carroll has not set a new commitment date, but is expected to visit with some schools as soon as his season comes to an end.
