On Sunday afternoon, Rutgers head coach Chris Ash was fired from his head coaching position, by Rutgers athletic director Patrick E. Hobbs. But one of Ash's former 2020 targets told me, "I'm 100% committed to playing college football at Rutgers, I'm not going anywhere else."
Clearwater Central Catholic linebacker Jack Del Rio is "all in" on playing at Rutgers, regardless of who will take the new head coaching job. Del Rio has been limited to just one game this season, where he sustained a shoulder injury but is not expected to require surgery.
Del Rio, is the 128th ranked linebacker in the nation & the 260th overall ranked prospect in the state of Florida, according to 247Sports.com
Coming off a 2018 season, where Del Rio had 78 total tackles & 3 sacks leading the Marauders to a 12-1 season, before losing in the state semifinals to Chaminade-Madonna.
Before committing to Rutgers in July, Del Rio had a total of 12 offers throughout his recruiting process from schools such as Bowling Green, Campbell, Colorado State, Columbia, Cornell, Dartmouth, Penn, Princeton, South Dakota, Southern Miss & William & Mary. Del Rio also drew interest from Kentucky, Mississippi State & Pittsburgh.
Del Rio, will join McArthur safety Jerrold Pough as the two representatives from the Sunshine State at Rutgers next season so far.
