We have entered the final week of the high school volleyball regular season, so this will be our final rankings display for this season. Find out where your team is ranked below.
1. Clearwater Central Catholic (15-3)
Last Week: Defeated Bishop McLaughlin (3-1)
This Week: @ Northside Christian (Tues.), vs Cardinal Mooney (Thu.)
The Marauders remain the #1 team in the Tampa Bay area for the second straight week. The Marauders have a lot of momentum in their direction, following last week's 4-set win over Bishop McLaughlin.
Senior Linsey Harrison is leading the team with 169 kills this season.
2. Calvary Christian (20-2)
Last Week: Defeated Northside Christian (3-0)
This Week: @ Tarpon Springs (Tues.), vs Countryside (Thu.)
The Warriors remain at #2 in this week's Tampa Bay area volleyball rankings, as they have just two matches remaining before the district tournament gets underway next week.
Senior Cathryn Long is leading the team with 338 kills & 23 total blocks this season.
3. Bishop McLaughlin (21-3)
Last Week: Lost to Clearwater Central Catholic (3-1), Defeated Carrollwood Day (3-1)
This Week: @ Riverview (Sarasota) (Thu.)
The Hurricanes will wrap up the regular season on Thursday night, as they take on the Riverview (Sarasota) Rams, who are led by junior outside hitter Madison Binkley. The Hurricanes are likely to secure the #1 seed in next week's District 3A-5 tournament.
Junior Audrey Koenig leads the team with 252 kills this season.
4. Osceola (19-0)
Last Week: Defeated Palm Harbor University (2-0), Defeated St. Petersburg (2-1), Defeated Anclote (3-0)
This Week: Defeated Shorecrest Prep (3-0) (Mon.), @ Pinellas Park (Tues.), @ Largo (Thu.)
The Warriors are in great position to enter next week's district tournament unbeaten & are on pace to finish with their best regular season since 2016 (18-3). The Lady Warriors will be the #1 seed in next week's District 5A-7 tournament.
Senior Kalli Cors leads the team with 177 kills & 31 serving aces so far this season.
5. St. Petersburg (22-3)
Last Week: Defeated East Lake (2-0), Lost to Osceola (2-1), Defeated Clearwater (3-0)
This Week: No games scheduled
The Lady Green Devils expect to be fully rested as they have the entire week off, preparing for the District 6A-6 tournament that starts next week. Junior Kate Youmans led the team this season with 195 kills. "I am so proud of this team on what they accomplished this season", said 2nd year head coach Joseph Abad.
6. Wharton (18-3)
Last Week: Lost to Steinbrenner (3-2)
This Week: Lost to Plant (3-1), @ Freedom (Thu.)
The Lady Wildcats are in a little slump right now, as they've dropped two straight matches to two solid programs (Steinbrenner & Plant). The Wildcats will end their regular season play on Thursday @ rival Freedom (2-11).
Senior outside hitter Jeanette Henderson leads the team with 166 kills & is second on the team, with 129 digs so far this season.
7. Keswick Christian (19-3)
Last Week: Defeated Universal Academy (3-0), Defeated St. Petersburg Catholic (3-0)
This Week: Defeated Dixie Hollins (3-1) (Mon.), @ Indian Rocks Christian (Tues.)
Keswick Christian head volleyball coach Karrmayne King is closing in on her coaching her final matches of her head volleyball coaching career, as she announced before the season she's stepping down but will remain the school's AD & girls basketball coach.
Sophomore Sydney Jackwin leads the team with 304 kills & 70 serving aces this season.
8. Steinbrenner (20-4)
Last Week: Defeated Mitchell (3-0), Defeated Newsome (3-0), Defeated Wharton (3-2)
This Week: Defeated Sickles (3-0) (Mon.), @ Wiregrass Ranch (Tues.)
The Lady Warriors are currently one of the hottest teams in the Tampa Bay area, coming into this week on a 6-game winning streak. "We are playing good volleyball at the right time", said head volleyball coach Sabrina Christofilis following last week's 3-set win over Newsome. The Warriors close out their regular season schedule tonight as they travel to Wiregrass Ranch (13-4).
9. Sunlake (15-5)
Last Week: Defeated Land O'Lakes (3-2), Defeated Wiregrass Ranch (3-0)
This Week: vs Pasco (Tues.), vs Wesley Chapel (Thu.)
The Sunlake Seahawks volleyball team is coming off a pair of marquee wins last week, over their rivals Land O'Lakes & Wiregrass Ranch. Expect the Seahawks to be the two seed entering the District 6A-5 tournament next week.
Senior Caroline Schoonover leads the team with 180 kills so far this season. "This team has overcame so much adversity & I can't be anymore proud of them", said assistant coach Elyse Garcia last week following their 3-set win over Wiregrass Ranch.
10. Plant (17-7)
Last Week: Went 4-3 at the Nike Tournament of Champions in Phoenix
This Week: Defeated Wharton (3-1), vs Bloomingdale (Thu.)
The Plant Panthers are playing good volleyball at the right time, and that's no big surprise as they were state runner-ups last season. The Lady Panthers are expected to get back junior Erin Morrissey next week, as she has missed most of the season due to injury. Expect it to be a three-team race for the #1 seed (Plant, Steinbrenner & Wharton).
Senior Elizabeth Price leads the team with 110 kills so far this season.
On The Bubble: Academy at the Lakes (11-8), Carrollwood Day (16-7), East Lake (16-6), Northside Christian (15-7), Robinson (9-4), Tampa Catholic (13-9), Wiregrass Ranch (13-4)
