On Monday afternoon, one of the highest ranked strong-side defensive ends in the 2020 class in Palm Beach County, is now off the board. Wellington defensive end Stephen Passeggiata announced his commitment on his Twitter account, that he is heading to play for Eliah Drinkwitz & his Appalachian State Mountaineers.
Passeggiata chose Appalachian State over notable schools such as Buffalo, Florida Atlantic, Florida International, Illinois State, Kent State, Liberty, Rhode Island, South Dakota, Southern Miss, South Florida, Western Kentucky & Western Michigan.
Prior to the season getting started, Passeggiata was the #1 ranked defensive end in the Broward/Palm Beach County area, according to New Era Prep. Passeggiata was also ranked as a Super 11 selection, according to the Palm Beach Post.

Passeggiata, on why he chose Appalachian State. "I just always thought it was a good school & I have built a great relationship with the coaches up there."They've been so supportive of my decision since day one.", Passeggiata added.
