Our recruiting profile today takes us out to Calvary Christian High School in Clearwater. The home of 3-star defensive back Shelton Quarles Jr, offensive lineman Mike Lofton, quarterback Harold Cook & many others who have legit chances at playing football at the next level.
Today, we are talking about defensive back Shelton Quarles Jr., who is the son of former Miami Dolphin & Tampa Bay Buccaneer linebacker Shelton Quarles Sr., who had a 98 yard interception return in 2001 against the Green Bay Packers, which is the longest play in Tampa Bay Buccaneers history.
Quarles Jr. currently has a total of 5 offers through his recruiting process, from schools such as Oregon, Southern Miss, Toledo, USF & West Virginia. Quarles Jr. is in his first season playing at Calvary Christian, after spending his first 3 seasons at Carrollwood Day School.
Quarles Jr., is listed as a 6'0, 185 pound defensive back as well as a 3-star prospect, according to 247Sports.com. Quarles Jr. is ranked the 97th best defensive back in the nation & the 148th overall ranked prospect in the state of Florida, according to 247Sports.com.
Quarles Jr. on his recruiting process. "WVU is for sure in the mix and after conversations with my family, they are number one right now." Quarles Jr. also added, "I would like to make a 2nd visit to Morgantown, as I loved the facilities & the atmosphere was great."
Quarles Jr. is undecided on when he will commit for his college future, but he has options cut down to the five schools who have offered him so far.
Quarles Jr. & his Calvary Christian Warriors (4-1) will take the field on Friday night hosting his former school Carrollwood Day (0-5).
