Today's recruiting tour takes us to Valrico, Florida, the home of future Illini Quinton McCoy, whose currently in his senior season playing defensive tackle at Bloomingdale High School.


McCoy, who committed to Illinois back in June, says "I'm 100% committed to joining Lovie Smith & his Illini staff."My dream has to always play for a power 5 team, and now I'm getting to have that chance", McCoy added.


McCoy, who visited with his future home last month, told Jeremy Werner of 247Sports, "I love it here, the fans are great, the coaches are great & am excited to put on that Illinois uniform."


McCoy, is listed as a 6'2, 260 pound defensive lineman & is ranked the 117th best defensive lineman in the nation, along with the 197th overall ranked prospect in the state of Florida, according to 247Sports.com.


Prior to his commitment to Illinois, McCoy had a total of 9 offers throughout his recruiting process from notable schools such as Bowling Green, FIU, Iowa State, Kentucky, Georgia Southern, Louisville, Southern Miss, Toledo & USF.


So far in 2019, McCoy has played in 4 games where he has 22 total tackles this season. Coming off a 2018 season, where McCoy had 34 total tackles & only racked up 2.5 sacks last season.


McCoy and his Bloomingdale Bulls football team are off to a 4-1 start to the season. Bloomingdale has a home football game on Friday night, as they square off vs Tampa Bay Tech, led by head coach Jayson Roberts.
