Late Friday night, Florida Atlantic University's football team added their 7th commit to the Class of 2020, in Zephyrhills Christian (Fla.) defensive lineman Malik Jones. Jones chose the Owls over Kentucky, Mississippi State, Southern Miss & Troy. Jones took an official visit to the campus in late May & also participated in their team camp in June.
Jones was nominated on the All-Suncoast area team in 2018, as a junior & was credited for 88 total tackles last season. Jones also is a wrestler at Zephyrhills Christian, while his father Spence serves as his defensive coordinator & as well as the head basketball coach.
Jones told FAUOwlsNest.com's Shane Marinelli, that Florida Atlantic was "the perfect fit", coming from his christian background. Expect Jones to make a big impact on the Owls defensive front in the 2020 season & going forward.
