Tampa Top 10 High School Boys Soccer Rankings (Week of Jan 27-31)

As we approach the final week of the regular season in high school boys soccer in the Tampa Bay area, as well as the state of Florida. These will be our final rankings of the season, as the postseason draws near. Find out where your team is ranked below.


1. Wiregrass Ranch (18-1-2)

This Week: vs Sunlake (Mon.), vs Lakewood Ranch (Wed.)


The Wiregrass Ranch Bulls remain at #1 in this week's Tampa Bay Boys Soccer rankings, as they are also #1 in the coaches' poll. The Bulls come into this week, on a 10-game winning streak dating back to December 9 vs Steinbrenner. The Bulls have gone two straight games without conceding a goal as well.


2. Tampa Catholic (16-1-2)

This Week: No games scheduled


The Tampa Catholic Crusaders check in at #2 in this week's Tampa Bay Boys Soccer rankings. The Crusaders have ended the regular season, on a 14-match unbeaten streak dating back to November 20 at Wiregrass Ranch (Lost 3-2). The Crusaders will be the #1 seed in next week's District 3A-7 tournament at Calvary Christian.


3. Jesuit (17-3-2)

This Week: No games scheduled


The Jesuit Tigers drop from #2 to #3 in this week's Tampa Bay Boys Soccer rankings. The Tigers had a five-game unbeaten streak snapped, in their 3-2 loss vs Montverde Academy in their last game. The Tigers are the #1 seed in the District 5A-8 tournament & will await the Robinson/Jefferson winner on Friday night.


4. Sunlake (17-1-3)

This Week: at Wiregrass Ranch (Mon.), vs River Ridge (Wed.)


The Sunlake Seahawks come into this week at #4 in the Tampa Bay Boys Soccer rankings, as they get set for a showdown with #1 Wiregrass Ranch tonight. The Seahawks currently have not conceded a goal in each of their last two games. Junior Ethan Sternberg leads the team with 37 goals scored this season. The Seahawks will be the #2 seed in the District 6A-5 tournament next week at Wiregrass Ranch.


5. Newsome (11-1-3)

This Week: vs Freedom (Wed.)


The Newsome Wolves remain in the Top 5 in the Tampa Bay Boys Soccer rankings this week. The Wolves are coming off a 0-0 draw vs King in their last game, where they allowed 13 shots on goal. Senior Owen Lucey leads the team with eight goals scored this season. Newsome will wrap up the regular season on Wednesday night, as they host Freedom High School.


6. Shorecrest Prep (10-3-1)

This Week: vs Countryside (Tues.), vs East Lake (Thu.)


The Shorecrest Prep Chargers are coming off a 1-0-1 week last week, as they defeated Berkeley Prep 3-1 in their last game. Senior Jon Shehu had two of their three goals in the win over Berkeley Prep. The Chargers will continue their four-game home stretch tomorrow night, as they host Countryside. Senior Max Consoni leads the team with 14 goals scored this season.


7. Seminole (16-4-1)

This Week: TBD


The Seminole Warhawks have clinched the #1 seed in the District 5A-10 tournament that kicks off on Wednesday night at Seminole. The Warhawks will face the Southeast/Boca Ciega winner in the semifinals on Friday night. Seminole is coming off a 1-0 loss vs Osceola in their last game. Senior Griffin Prestipino & Freshman PJ Slaughter each led the way with 15 goals scored in the regular season.


8. Osceola (13-5-3)

This Week: TBD


The Osceola Warriors will be the #2 seed in the District 5A-10 tournament this week & have received a first round bye. The Warriors will await the winner between Northeast & Dixie Hollins. Osceola is coming off a 5-3 loss vs Keswick Christian in their last game. Sophomore Ian Goins led the way with 11 goals in the regular season.


9. Bloomingdale (10-4-3)

This Week: TBD


The Bloomingdale Bulls will be the #1 seed in the District 6A-11 tournament that kicks off tonight at Bloomingdale. The Bulls tied in each of their last two games of the regular season vs Riverview & Steinbrenner. Bloomingdale will await the Tampa Bay Tech/Armwood winner in the semifinals on Thursday night. Junior Cade McMillen leads the team with 19 goals scored this season.


10. East Lake (9-4-1)

This Week: @ Shorecrest Prep (Mon.)


The East Lake Eagles will be the #4 seed in the District 6A-5 tournament that kicks off next week at Wiregrass Ranch. The Eagles will face the #5 seed Leto Falcons in the first round on February 3 @ 6pm. Senior William Shuchart leads the team with seven goals scored this season. East Lake will wrap up their regular season schedule on Thursday night, as they travel to Shorecrest Prep.
