We have entered the official midway point of the high school soccer season in the Tampa Bay area, as well as the state of Florida. Not a lot of shuffling expected in this week's rankings, as we close in on the holiday break. This will be the final rankings reveal in 2019, as rankings will resume on Monday, January 6. Find out where your team is ranked below.
1. Jesuit (11-1-1)
Last Week: Defeated Brooks-DeBartolo 7-0, Defeated Jefferson 7-1 & Defeated Calvary Christian 2-1
This Week: @ Tampa Catholic (Fri.)
The Jesuit Tigers wrapped up last week, with a thrilling 2-1 win over Calvary Christian where senior Lucas Gobea & junior Kellan Kirkpatrick-Mullen had the goals for the Tigers. Jesuit will play just one game this week, as they will travel to rival Tampa Catholic on Friday night.
2. Wiregrass Ranch (9-1-2)
Last Week: Tied Steinbrenner 1-1 & Defeated Mitchell 2-0
This Week: vs Sunlake (Tues.), @ Nature Coast Tech (Wed.), @ Wesley Chapel (Thu.)
The Wiregrass Ranch Bulls stay at #2 in the Tampa Bay area rankings, despite the 1-1 draw over Steinbrenner. Junior Justin Amis & Sophomore Alec Santiago each scored a goal, in their 2-0 win over Mitchell last game. The Bulls will be back in action, tomorrow night as they host #3 Sunlake in the Tampa Bay Game of the Week.
3. Sunlake (10-0-2)
Last Week: Tied Pasco 2-2 & Tied Gaither 0-0
This Week: vs South Sumter (Tues.), @ Wiregrass Ranch (Tues.), @ Calvary Christian (Thu.)
The Sunlake Seahawks show no movement, in this week's rankings despite having two draws last week. Junior Ethan Sternberg & Sophomore Daniel Lester each scored a goal, in their 2-2 draw last week at Pasco. The Seahawks are back in action, tomorrow night at #2 Wiregrass Ranch in the Tampa Bay Game of the Week.
4. Tampa Catholic (9-1-1)
Last Week: Defeated Wesley Chapel 2-1, Defeated Tampa Prep 1-0 & Defeated St. Petersburg Catholic 8-0
This Week: vs Jesuit (Fri.)
The Tampa Catholic Crusaders remain at #4 in this week's rankings, despite going 3-0-0 in their games last week. Senior Tony Watson leads the team with 13 goals scored this season. The Crusaders will be back in action, on Friday night as they'll host #1 Jesuit in their final game until after the holiday break.
5. Newsome (6-0-1)
Last Week: Defeated Lennard 3-0
This Week: vs Steinbrenner (Fri.)
The Newsome Wolves move up from #6 to #5, in this week's Tampa Bay area boys soccer rankings. Senior Owen Lucey scored 2 goals & senior Zian Church added the other goal, in Newsome's 3-0 win over Lennard last week. The Wolves will be back in action on Friday night, as they host Steinbrenner in their final game until after the holiday break.
6. Shorecrest Prep (6-2-0)
Last Week: Defeated Northeast 6-2 & Defeated Boca Ciega 8-0
This Week: No games scheduled
The Shorecrest Prep Chargers are back at #6 in this week's Tampa Bay Boys Soccer rankings. The Chargers are coming off a 2-0 week, where they outscored both Northeast & Boca Ciega, a combined 14-2. The Chargers will be back in action on January 7, as they host St. Petersburg Catholic. Senior Max Consoni leads the team with nine goals scored this season.
7. Osceola (10-2-1)
Last Week: Defeated St. Petersburg Catholic 7-0, Defeated Lakewood 5-3 & Defeated St. Petersburg 7-3
This Week: vs Pinellas Park (Fri.)
The Osceola Warriors are back in this week's Tampa Bay area boys soccer rankings, as they come into this week on a three-game winning streak. Sophomore Ian Goins leads the team with eight goals scored this season. The Warriors will be back in action, on Friday night as they host Pinellas Park.
8. Nature Coast Tech (9-1-1)
Last Week: Defeated Springstead 3-1 & Defeated Hernando 5-0
This Week: vs Lecanto (Mon.), vs Wiregrass Ranch (Wed.), @ Crystal River (Fri.)
Welcome to the rankings for the first time this season, the Nature Coast Tech Sharks as they come into this week, on a five-game winning streak. Seniors Tony Howard & Jaxsen Soto are each tied for the team lead, with ten goals scored this season. The Sharks will be back in action, tonight as they host Lecanto in their first of three games scheduled this week.
9. Northeast (6-1-1)
Last Week: Lost to Shorecrest Prep 6-2 & Tied Clearwater 1-1
This Week: No games scheduled
The Northeast Vikings fall from #6 to #9 in this week's Tampa Bay boys soccer rankings. Senior Aiden Azoon had the Vikings' only goal in their 1-1 draw last week vs Clearwater. Northeast will be back in action on January 7, as they will travel to Boca Ciega. Senior Dayne Baldwin leads the team with 12 goals scored this season.
10. Bloomingdale (6-2-1)
Last Week: Defeated Plant City 4-2
This Week: No games scheduled
The Bloomingdale Bulls are back in the Tampa Bay area rankings, coming in this week at #10. However, the Bulls are off this week & will be competing in the Tampa Bay Invitational, that starts on Thursday, January 2. Junior Cade McMillen had two goals, senior Rylan Buja had a goal & senior Matt Allred had a goal, in their 4-2 win over Plant City last week.
