Tampa Top 10 High School Boys Soccer Rankings (Week 4)

It is hard to believe that we are already in the month of December, as most of this week's boys soccer rankings remain unchanged. Several Tampa Bay area teams did not play this week, due to the Thanksgiving break but will be resuming play this week. A couple of featured matchups between ranked teams. Here are the rankings for the fourth week below.


1. Wiregrass Ranch (6-0-0)

Last Week: Defeated Largo 5-1 & Defeated Seminole 2-0

This Week: @ Pasco (Mon.), vs Bloomingdale (Wed.), vs Gaither (Thu.)


The Wiregrass Ranch Bulls were one of very few ranked teams who played last week during the Thanksgiving Break, with wins over Largo & Seminole at the Lakewood High School Thanksgiving Classic. Wiregrass Ranch has only conceded a total of five goals, in their six games played this season.


2. Jesuit (3-1-1)

This Week: vs Blake (Tues.), vs Shorecrest Prep (Thu.), vs Lakeland Christian (Fri.)


The Jesuit Tigers continue their stretch of eight straight matches at home, as they have a three-match schedule this week starting with Blake tomorrow night. The Tigers can't begin to look ahead to their showdown with reigning 1A Runner-up Shorecrest Prep on Thursday night.


3. Osceola (5-0-0)

This Week: @ Clearwater Central Catholic (Mon.), vs Carrollwood Day (Wed.), @ Gibbs (Thu.), vs East Lake (Fri.)


The Osceola Warriors will have four matches schedule this week, starting tonight with an away contest against Clearwater Central Catholic. The Warriors have outscored their opponents, 25-3 in their first five games this season. Sophomore striker Ian Goins is leading the team with five goals scored so far this season.


4. Plant City (3-0-0)

This Week: vs Strawberry Crest (Tues.), @ Durant (Fri.)


The Plant City Raiders are at their highest ranking of the season, coming into this week at #4 in the Tampa Bay area. Plant City has just two matches scheduled for this week, starting with a home match vs Strawberry Crest tomorrow night. The Raiders have conceded a total of just one goal this season. Senior forward David Espinoza has scored a total of four goals this season.


5. Shorecrest Prep (3-1-0)

This Week: @ Tampa Prep (Tues.), @ Jesuit (Thu.)


The Shorecrest Prep Chargers & Plant City Raiders swap the #4 & #5 ranking in the Tampa Bay area this week. Shorecrest Prep is headlined this week, as they have their Top 10 showdown against #2 Jesuit on Thursday night. Senior Max Consoni leads the team with six goals scored this season.


6. Tampa Catholic (4-1-1)

This Week: vs Carrollwood Day (Mon.), @ East Lake (Wed.)


The Tampa Catholic Crusaders resume Champions League group play this week, as they'll travel to East Lake on Wednesday night. Tampa Catholic has not played since November 22 @ Mitchell (0-0 Draw). Senior Tony Watson leads the team with six goals scored this season.


7. Sunlake (6-0-0)

This Week: vs Trinity Catholic (Mon.), vs Leto (Tues.), @ Cypress Creek (Wed.), @ Fivay (Thu.)


Welcome to the Tampa Bay area rankings for the first time this year, the Sunlake Seahawks come in at #7. The Seahawks are averaging 6.8 goals/game this season & have only given up five goals all season. Junior striker Ethan Sternberg leads the team with 14 goals scored this season.


8. Steinbrenner (3-2-1)

Last Week: Defeated Berkeley Prep, 2-1

This Week: vs Palm Harbor University (Tues.), @ Seminole (Wed.), vs TBD (Sat.)


The Steinbrenner Warriors move up from #9 to #8 in this week's Tampa Bay area rankings, with their 2-1 win over Berkeley Prep last week. The Warriors will be tested this week, as they'll play at Seminole on Wednesday in a Champions League group play game. Senior Arman Alideai leads the team with nine goals scored this season.


9. Bloomingdale (4-2-0)

This Week: @ Freedom (Tues.), @ Wiregrass Ranch (Wed.)


The Bloomingdale Bulls have a small two game schedule this week, as they will be on the road for Freedom & Wiregrass Ranch. Bloomingdale is averaging just 2.5 goals scored per game this season. Junior Cade McMillen leads the team with seven goals scored this season.


10. Newsome (3-1-0)

This Week: @ Durant (Tues.), @ Gaither (Fri.)


The Newsome Wolves enter the Tampa Bay area boys soccer rankings for the first time this season, coming in at #10. The Wolves went into Thanksgiving Break on a two-game winning streak. Senior Owen Lucey leads the team with four goals scored this season.
