As we are approaching just three weeks away until the start of district tournament play, some of the rankings expected to remain the same this week. Find out where your team is ranked below.
1. Plant (11-0)
This Week: @ Wharton (Tues.)
The Plant Panthers remain the #1 team in the Tampa Bay area Girls Soccer rankings this week. The Lady Panthers come into play this week ranked #15 in the nation, according to MaxPreps. Sophomore Kallyn McKinney leads the team with 11 goals scored this season.
2. Academy of the Holy Names (10-1)
This Week: vs Calvary Christian (Tues.), vs St. Petersburg (Fri.)
The Academy of the Holy Names Lady Jaguars come into this week, as the #2 team ranked in the Tampa Bay area. The Lady Jaguars have won nine straight games, dating back to November 15 vs East Lake, where they lost in penalty kicks. Senior Madison Kurtz leads the team with 15 goals scored this season.
3. Wiregrass Ranch (11-1-1)
This Week: Defeated Fivay 7-0 (Mon.), vs Manatee (Thu.)
The Wiregrass Ranch Lady Bulls come into this week, on a six-game winning streak which includes last night's 7-0 win over Fivay. The Lady Bulls currently stand at the #1 seed in the District 6A-5 tournament, which starts on February 4. Senior Avery Damjanovic leads the team with 23 goals scored this season.
4. Newsome (8-1-1)
This Week: vs Sickles (Thu.), @ Strawberry Crest (Fri.)
The Newsome Lady Wolves are coming off a 2-0 week with wins over Plant City & Bloomingdale. The Lady Wolves have not conceded a goal since December 6 @ Gaither (4-1 Win). The Lady Wolves have just conceded a total of four goals all season.
5. Berkeley Prep (13-2-1)
This Week: @ Indian Rocks Christian (Tues.), @ Bishop Moore (Thu.), vs Bishop Verot (Sat.)
The Berkeley Prep Lady Buccaneers currently stand as the #5 ranked team in the Tampa Bay area. Sophomore Emma Watson led the way with two goals, in their 5-1 win at Tampa Prep in their last game. Emma Watson also leads the team with 18 goals scored this season.
6. Palm Harbor University (11-2-1)
This Week: Defeated Osceola 6-1 (Mon.), vs Sickles (Tues.), @ Dunedin (Wed.)
The Palm Harbor University Lady Hurricanes drop to #6 in this week's Tampa Bay Girls Soccer rankings after losing 1-0 to Plant last week. The Lady Hurricanes responded with a 6-1 win over Osceola last night. Junior Camryn Boyette leads the team with 14 goals scored this season.
7. East Lake (12-3)
This Week: Lost to Mitchell 2-1 (Mon.), vs Sunlake (Wed.)
The East Lake Eagles rise from #10 to #7 in this week's Tampa Bay Girls Soccer rankings. Junior Madison Paster leads the team with 12 goals scored this season. The Lady Eagles are back in action tomorrow night, as they host Sunlake High School in a District 6A-5 game.
8. Durant (7-1-2)
This Week: @ Brandon (Tues.), @ Wharton (Thu.)
The Durant Lady Cougars check in at #8 in this week's Tampa Bay Girls Soccer rankings, as they come into play on a three-game winning streak. Durant currently sits as the #3 seed in the District 7A-8 tournament. The Lady Cougars are back in action tonight, as they travel to Brandon High School.
9. Sickles (8-1-1)
This Week: @ Palm Harbor University (Tues.), @ Newsome (Thu.)
The Sickles Lady Gryphons check in at #9 in this week's Tampa Bay Girls Soccer rankings. The Lady Gryphons are currently on a four-match unbeaten streak. Freshman Lexi Raquet had a two-goal performance in their 5-0 win over Jefferson last game. Freshman Reagan Wilson leads the team with 10 goals scored this season.
10. Nature Coast Tech (16-1-1)
This Week: Tied Land O'Lakes 2-2 (Mon.), vs Fivay (Wed.), @ South Sumter (Fri.)
The Nature Coast Tech Lady Sharks check in at #10 in this week's Tampa Bay Girls Soccer rankings. Sophomore Kennedy Weissman had both goals, in their 2-2 draw vs Land O'Lakes last night. The Lady Sharks are back in action tomorrow night, as they host Fivay High School.
