Welcome to the first girls basketball rankings of 2020, as we are about a month away from the start of the district tournament. Some teams will be shuffled around in this week's rankings, as tournaments took place over the holiday break. Find out where your team is ranked below.
1. Carrollwood Day (13-2)
Last Week: Defeated Magnificat (OH) 56-36, Lost to Madison Memorial (WI) 60-50, Defearted Cumberland County (TN) 60-29
This Week: Defeated Crystal River 73-44, vs Palm Beach Lakes (Fri.), vs Winter Haven (Sat.)
The Carrollwood Day Lady Patriots are the #1 team in the Tampa Bay area for the first time this season, jumping previous #1 Tampa Bay Tech. The Lady Patriots got their week off to a solid start, with a 73-44 win last night over Crystal River. Carrollwood Day will be back in action on Friday night, as they take on Palm Beach Lakes.
2. Tampa Bay Tech (10-3)
Last Week: Defeated Rock Bridge (MO) 50-36, Lost to Sacred Heart (KY) 51-46, Lost to Bradley Central (TN) 46-43
This Week: vs Armwood (Tues.), vs King (Wed.), @ Brandon (Fri.)
The Tampa Bay Tech Lady Titans are coming off a 1-2 performance at the Naples Holiday Shootout just right before the new year. The Lady Titans kick off the first of a two game home stretch tonight, as they host Armwood. Sophomore Janiah Barker leads the team averaging 13.1 points per game this season.
3. Plant (11-1)
Last Week: Lost to Fayetteville (AR) 54-41, Defeated Barron Collier 65-26, Defeated Mercy (KY) 57-29
This Week: @ Steinbrenner (Tues.), @ Robinson (Fri.)
The Plant Lady Panthers are coming off a 2-1 performance at the Naples Holiday Shootout, suffering their only loss of the season. Junior guard Nyla Jean leads the team in scoring, averaging 14.2 points per game this season. The Lady Panthers are back in action tonight, as they travel to Steinbrenner High School.
4. Brooks-DeBartolo (11-3)
Last Week: Defeated Keys Gate 59-55, Defeated Westminster Academy 44-35
This Week: vs Lakewood Ranch (Wed.), vs Wiregrass Ranch (Thu.)
The Brooks-DeBartolo Lady Phoenix come into this week ranked #4 in the Tampa Bay area. The Lady Phoenix went 2-0 at the SUTS New Year's Classic in Coral Springs last weekend. Junior forward Triniti Youngblood leads the team averaging 12.4 points per game this season. The Lady Phoenix are back in action tomorrow night, as they host Lakewood Ranch.
5. Wesley Chapel (14-2)
Last Week: Defeated Weeki Wachee 70-34, Defeated South Sumter 69-53, Lost to Eustis 60-51
This Week: vs Tampa Catholic (Wed.), @ Zephyrhills (Fri.)
The Wesley Chapel Lady Wildcats come into this week, ranked #5 in the Tampa Bay area. The Lady Wildcats went 2-1 at the Hernando Holiday Classic finishing in 2nd place. Senior guard Kayla Grant leads the team averaging 14.2 points per game this season. Wesley Chapel is back in action tomorrow night, as they host Tampa Catholic.
6. Keswick Christian (11-1)
Last Week: Defeated Lakeside Christian 65-38, Lost to Clarksville Academy (TN) 45-26, Defeated Clearwater 55-53
This Week: @ Academy of the Holy Names (Tues.), @ North Tampa Christian (Thu.), vs St. Petersburg Catholic (Sat.)
The Keswick Christian Lady Crusaders are coming off a 2-1 performance at the Keswick Suncoast Classic. Senior forward Jakara Akins leads the team averaging 16.4 points per game this season. The Lady Crusaders are back in action tonight at Academy of the Holy Names.
7. Seffner Christian (13-5)
Last Week: Defeated American Heritage (Delray) 58-39, Lost to American Heritage (Plantation) 51-41
This Week: vs River Ridge (Thu.), @ Bishop Verot (Sat.)
The Seffner Christian Lady Crusaders are coming off a 1-1 performance at the SUTS New Year's Classic in Coral Springs. The Lady Crusaders come in this week, at #7 in the Tampa Bay area. Seffner Christian is back in action on Thursday night, as they host River Ridge.
8. Tampa Prep (8-3)

The Tampa Prep Lady Terrapins are coming off a 2-0 performance at the Tampa Bay Christmas Invitational. Sophomore Kailyn Gilbert leads the team averaging 33 points per game this season. Tampa Prep is back in action tonight, as they travel to Bishop McLaughlin.
9. Jefferson (8-3)

The Jefferson Lady Dragons are coming off a 1-2 performance at the Tampa Bay Christmas Invitational. Despite, the Lady Dragons suffering a two-game losing streak they find themselves at #9 in the Tampa Bay area. Junior Elayza Jackson leads the team in scoring, averaging 14.3 points per game this season. Jefferson will be back in action tonight, as they host Blake High School.
10. Northeast (11-4)
Last Week: Defeated Robinson 45-37, Lost to Santa Fe Catholic 47-32, Defeated Bishop McLaughlin 53-28

The Northeast Lady Vikings are coming off a 2-1 performance at the Academy of the Holy Names tournament. Senior Kanesha Hall leads the team averaging 12.8 points per game this season. Northeast kicks off a three game road swing, starting tonight at Largo High School
