Tampa Bay Top 10 High School Girls Basketball Rankings (Week of Jan 27-31)

As we enter the final week of the high school girls basketball regular season, this will be our final rankings display of the season. With five Top 10 Tampa Bay area girls basketball teams playing last weekend at the Play4Kay Shootout, the rankings will be shuffled this week. Find out where your team is ranked below.


1. Carrollwood Day (18-2)

This Week: vs Clearwater (Wed.), @ Braden River (Fri.)


The Carrollwood Day Lady Patriots remain at #1 in this week's Tampa Bay Girls Basketball rankings. The Lady Patriots are coming off a 2-0 week, with wins over Lakewood & Fort Myers. Carrollwood Day has locked the #1 seed in the District 3A-9 tournament that will take place next week.


2. Plant (22-1)

This Week: vs Tampa Bay Tech (Wed.), vs Newsome (Fri.)


The Plant Lady Panthers are coming off a 4-0 week last week, with wins over St. Thomas Aquinas, Sickles, Steinbrenner & Brooks-DeBartolo. The Lady Panthers have won 13 straight games dating back to December 28, where they suffered their only loss of the season. Junior forward Kendal Cheesman leads the team averaging 17 points & 10.3 rebounds per game this season.


3. Seffner Christian (20-5)

This Week: Defeated River Ridge 62-52 (Mon.), @ Cape Coral (Thu.)


The Seffner Christian Crusaders honored their three seniors last night, in a 62-52 win over River Ridge. The Lady Crusaders are currently on a six-game winning streak heading into their regular season finale. The Lady Crusaders are currently the #1 seed in next week's District 3A-10 tournament.


4. Tampa Bay Tech (19-5)

This Week: @ Plant (Wed.)


The Tampa Bay Tech Lady Titans do not drop a spot, after losing to nationally ranked Lake Highland Prep last weekend at the Play4Kay Shootout. However, the Lady Titans did get a pair of wins over Bloomingdale & King. Tampa Bay Tech will wrap up the regular season tomorrow night, as they travel to Plant High School.


5. Keswick Christian (21-1)

This Week: @ Clearwater (Tues.), vs Tampa Prep (Thu.), @ Cambridge Christian (Fri.)


The Keswick Christian Lady Crusaders enter the Top 5 for the first time this season. The Lady Crusaders are currently on an 11-game winning streak & are currently ranked 5th in Class 2A, according to MaxPreps. The Lady Crusaders are back in action tonight, as they travel to Clearwater High School.


6. Brooks-DeBartolo (17-4)

This Week: @ Tampa Prep (Tues.)


The Brooks-DeBartolo Lady Phoenix drop from #5 to #6 in this week's Tampa Bay Girls Basketball rankings, following their loss to Plant over the weekend. Junior Triniti Youngblood leads the team, averaging 13.4 points & 9 rebounds per game this season. The Lady Phoenix wrap up the regular season tonight, as they travel to Tampa Prep.


7. Wesley Chapel (20-3)

This Week: vs River Ridge (Tues.), @ Nature Coast Tech (Wed.)


The Wesley Chapel Lady Wildcats are currently sitting at #7 in the Tampa Bay area coming into play this week. The Lady Wildcats are coming off a 2-1 week, with wins over Pasco & Cypress Creek. Senior Kayla Grant is leading the team, averaging 14.2 points & 11.5 rebounds per game this season. Wesley Chapel is back in action tonight, as they host River Ridge High School.


8. Jefferson (16-3)

This Week: vs Newsome (Wed.)


The Jefferson Lady Dragons are currently at #8 in the Tampa Bay area coming into this week. The Lady Dragons have won eight straight games, dating back to December 30. Jefferson is coming off a 3-0 week, with wins over Robinson, Blake & Spoto. The Lady Dragons are back in action, tomorrow night as they host Newsome High School.


9. Wiregrass Ranch (13-4)

This Week: vs Sarasota (Fri.)


The Wiregrass Ranch Lady Bulls have had a lot of success under new head coach Phyllis Crain. The Lady Bulls are currently on a four-game winning streak & are playing good basketball at the right time. The Lady Bulls have locked in the #1 seed in the District 6A-9 tournament that will take place next week. Wiregrass Ranch wraps up the regular season on Friday night, as they host Sarasota.


10. Tampa Prep (15-5)

This Week: vs Brooks-DeBartolo (Tues.), @ Keswick Christian (Thu.)


The Tampa Prep Lady Terrapins currently sit at the #10 ranking in the Tampa Bay area. Tampa Prep is coming off a 2-1 week, with wins over SLAM Academy & Land O'Lakes last week. Sophomore Kailyn Gilbert is averaging 32.8 points per game, along with 12.4 rebounds per game this season. Tampa Prep is back in action tonight, as they host Brooks-DeBartolo.
