Tampa Bay Top 10 High School Girls Basketball Rankings (Week of Jan 13-17)

As we are entering the final few weeks of the high school girls basketball regular season in the Tampa Bay area, as well as the state of Florida. Most of our area teams will have the same ranking this week. Find out where your team is ranked below.


1. Carrollwood Day (15-2)

This Week: @ Bishop McLaughlin (Thu.)


The Carrollwood Day Patriots remain the #1 team in the Tampa Bay area for the second straight week. The Lady Patriots are coming off a 2-0 performance at the Ledawn Gibson Invitational with wins over Palm Beach Lakes & Winter Haven. The Lady Patriots will be back in action on Thursday night, as they travel to Bishop McLaughlin.


2. Plant (14-1)

This Week: @ Alonso (Tues.), vs Armwood (Wed.), @ Wharton (Fri.), @ Lakewood (Sat.) (Lakewood Tournament)


The Plant Lady Panthers check into this week, as the #2 ranked team in the Tampa Bay Girls Basketball Rankings. Plant is coming off a 3-0 week, where they had wins over Steinbrenner, Robinson & Palm Beach Lakes. Junior forward Kendal Cheesman is leading the team, averaging 15.2 points & 10 rebounds per game this season. The Lady Panthers are back in action tonight, as they travel to Alonso High School.



3. Tampa Bay Tech (13-3)

This Week: vs Hillsborough (Tues.), @ Leto (Thu.), vs East Bay (Fri.), vs Miami Country Day (Sat.) (MLK Shootout @ Chamberlain HS)


The Tampa Bay Tech Lady Titans remain at #3, in this week's Tampa Bay Girls Basketball rankings, despite the 3-0 week with wins over Armwood, King & Brandon. The Lady Titans are averaging 58.6 points per game this season. Sophomore Janiah Barker is leading the team, averaging 12.5 points per game this season.


4. Brooks-DeBartolo (13-3)

This Week: @ Booker (Wed.), vs Miami Central (Sat.) (Green Wave Shootout at Father Lopez HS)


The Brooks-DeBartolo Lady Phoenix check in this week at #4 in the Tampa Bay area. The Lady Phoenix are currently riding a six-game winning streak, as they get ready to face a tough task this week. Junior Triniti Youngblood is averaging 12.9 points & 9 rebounds per game to lead her team this season. The Lady Phoenix are back in action tomorrow night, as they travel to Booker High School.


5. Seffner Christian (14-5)

This Week: vs Tampa Catholic (Fri.) (Lakewood HS Shootout), vs West Port (Sat.) (Lakewood HS Shootout)


The Seffner Christian Lady Crusaders have one of the most challenging schedules in the Tampa Bay area, as they sit at #5 in this week's Tampa Bay Girls Basketball rankings. The Lady Crusaders are coming off a 46-34 win over Bishop Verot in their last game. Senior Cairah Mays (Marshall commit) leads the team averaging 14.5 points & 12 rebounds per game this season.


6. Keswick Christian (14-1)

This Week: vs Countryside (Tues.), @ Northside Christian (Thu.), vs Out-of-Door Academy (Fri.), vs Pinellas Park (Sat.)


Despite having just one loss on the season, the Keswick Christian Lady Crusaders check in at #6 in this week's Tampa Bay Girls Basketball rankings. The Lady Crusaders currently are on a four-game winning streak, since suffering their only loss of the season during the holiday break. Senior Jakara Akins leads the team averaging 15.8 points per game this season.


7. Wesley Chapel (17-2)

This Week: Defeated Land O'Lakes 58-25 (Mon.), @ Tampa Prep (Wed.)


The Wesley Chapel Lady Wildcats currently stand at #7 in this week's Tampa Bay Girls Basketball rankings. Wesley Chapel has won three straight games coming out of the holiday break, with wins over Tampa Catholic, Zephyrhills & Land O'Lakes. Senior Kayla Grant leads the team, averaging 14.2 points & 11.6 rebounds per game this season. Wesley Chapel is back in action tomorrow night, as they travel to Tampa Prep,


8. Tampa Prep (11-3)

This Week: Defeated American Collegiate 64-45 (Mon.), vs Wesley Chapel (Wed.), vs Sunlake (Fri.)


The Tampa Prep Lady Terrapins are currently on a five-game winning streak, dating back to December 27 in the Tampa Bay Christmas Invitational. During the five-game winning streak, the Lady Terrapins are averaging 60.2 points per game & have allowed 43.4 points per game. Sophomore Kailyn Gilbert is averaging 35.4 points per game to lead her team this season.


9. Jefferson (10-3)

This Week: vs Middleton (Tues.), vs Chamberlain (Wed.), @ Durant (Fri.)


The Jefferson Lady Dragons check in at #9, in this week's Tampa Bay Girls Basketball rankings. Jefferson is coming off a 2-0 week with wins over Blake & Spoto. Junior Elayza Jackson leads her team averaging 14.3 points & 13.5 rebounds per game this season. Jefferson is back in action tonight, as they host Middleton in the first of a two-game home stand.


10. Wiregrass Ranch (10-4)

This Week: vs Tampa Catholic (Thu.), @ Freedom (Fri.)


Welcome to the Tampa Bay Girls Basketball rankings for the first time this season, the Wiregrass Ranch Lady Bulls. The Lady Bulls are currently coming off a 2-1 week with wins over River Ridge & Sunlake. Junior Zoi Evans leads the team averaging 14 points & 13 rebounds per game this season. The Lady Bulls will be back in action on Thursday night, as they host Tampa Catholic.
