Tampa Bay Top 10 High School Girls Basketball Rankings (Week 2)

Welcome to Week 2 of the high school girls basketball season across the state of Florida. Not a lot of movement in the top five in this week's rankings. Find out where your team is ranked below.


1. Tampa Bay Tech (2-0)

Last Week: Defeated Strawberry Crest 61-45

This Week: Defeated Booker 68-37 (Mon.), vs Lakewood (Tues.) (Brooks-DeBartolo HS)


The Tampa Bay Tech Titans remain the #1 team in the Tampa Bay area for the second consecutive week. The Titans also come in this week, as the #6 ranked team in the nation, according to MaxPreps. Junior K'Nisha Godfrey leads the team averaging 16 points per game.


2. Plant (2-0)

Last Week: Defeated Jefferson 60-29

This Week: Defeated Spruce Creek 65-42 (Mon.), vs Fort Myers (Tues.) (Brooks-DeBartolo HS)


The Plant Lady Panthers remain the #2 team in the Tampa Bay area for the second consecutive week. Plant is coming off an impressive win over Spruce Creek last night in the opening day of the Brooks-DeBartolo Thanksgiving Showcase. Junior Nyla Jean leads the team averaging 17 points per game this season.


3. Seffner Christian (2-0)

Last Week: No games scheduled

This Week: Defeated Wharton 65-35 (Sat.), Defeated Lakewood 63-45 (Mon.), at Brooks-DeBartolo (Tues.), vs Dr. Phillips (Fri.) (Florida Prospects), vs Haines City (Sat.) (Florida Prospects)


The Seffner Christian Lady Crusaders play one of the most challenging schedules in the Tampa Bay area, but find themselves as the #3 team in the Tampa Bay area this week. Seffner Christian will be back in action tonight, as they take on Brooks-DeBartolo in Day 2 of the Brooks-DeBartolo Thanksgiving Showcase.


4. Carrollwood Day (2-0)

Last Week: Defeated Chamberlain 66-21, Defeated Clearwater 68-23

This Week: No games scheduled


The Carrollwood Day Patriots will be off this week for Thanksgiving break, but are off to a 2-0 start this season. The Lady Patriots will be back in action on Monday, December 2 vs Crystal River.


5. Brooks-DeBartolo (2-0) Last Week: Defeated Bishop Verot 72-36

This Week: Defeated Armwood 55-44 (Mon.), vs Seffner Christian (Tues.)


The Brooks-DeBartolo Lady Phoenix are picking up right where they left off last season, as they are off to a 2-0 start to the season. However, the Phoenix will be challenged tonight as they host the #3 ranked team in the Tampa Bay area Seffner Christian.


6. Tampa Prep (3-0) Last Week: Defeated American Collegiate 66-55, Defeated Lake Gibson 66-55, Defeated Academy of the Holy Names 52-41

This Week: No games scheduled


The Tampa Prep Lady Terrapins are off to a 3-0 start to the regular season, under 4th year head coach Erin Knight. Sophomore Kailyn Gilbert leads the team averaging 34 points per game so far this season. Tampa Prep will be back in action on Tuesday, December 3 @ Berkeley Prep.


7. Santa Fe Catholic (3-0)

Last Week: Defeated Auburndale 62-12, Defeated Discovery 67-9

This Week: Defeated Kathleen 61-18 (Mon.)


The Santa Fe Catholic Lady Hawks are off to a roaring start to the regular season, averaging 64.5 points per game & allowing 12.6 points per game in their first three games. Junior forward Kassidy Jones is averaging 19.5 points per game to lead the team so far this season. Santa Fe Catholic will be back in action on Monday, December 2 @ Bartow High School.


8. Northeast (4-0)

Last Week: Defeated Lakewood Ranch 50-35, Defeated Dixie Hollins 62-33, Defeated Boca Ciega 62-33

This Week: Defeated Largo 62-40 (Mon.)


Welcome to the rankings for the first time this season, the Northeast Lady Vikings. Northeast is off to their first 4-0 start since the 2016-2017 season, where they finished 16-12. The Lady Vikings will return to action on December 3, as they host St. Petersburg.


9. Keswick Christian (4-0)

Last Week: Defeated Calvary Christian 60-26, Defeated Saint Stephen's Episcopal 53-44, Defeated Berkeley Prep 47-32

This Week: Defeated Bishop McLaughlin 48-37 (Mon.)


The Keswick Christian Lady Crusaders enter the Tampa Bay girls basketball rankings for the first time this season, as they were previously listed as "on the bubble" for the preseason. Senior Jakara Akins had a game-high 15 points last night, in their 48-37 win over Bishop McLaughlin. Keswick Christian will return to action on Monday, December 2 vs Bayshore Christian


10. Wesley Chapel (2-0)

Last Week: Defeated Anclote 69-31, Defeated Sunlake 54-42

This Week: @ Bishop McLaughlin (Tues.)


The Wesley Chapel Lady Wildcats didn't have any movement in this week's rankings, as they stay at #10 in the Tampa Bay area. In their first two games, the Lady Wildcats are averaging 61.5 points per game. Wesley Chapel will play their only game this week, tonight as they travel to Bishop McLaughlin looking to head into Thanksgiving on a high note.
