Tampa Bay Top 10 High School Boys Basketball Rankings (Week of Jan 27-31)

We have entered the final two weeks of the regular season in high school boys basketball across the Tampa Bay area, as well as the state of Florida. A lot of the same teams are expected to remain in this week's Top 10. Find out where your team is ranked below, as we enter the final stretch of the regular season.


1. East Lake (19-1)

This Week: vs Northeast (Mon.), vs Tarpon Springs (Wed.), vs Orlando Christian Prep (Sat.) (ARS National Hoopfest)


The East Lake Eagles are back at the #1 ranking in this week's Boys Basketball rankings. East Lake is coming off a 2-0 week, with wins over Countryside & Mitchell. Senior Dionte Blanch is leading the team, averaging 23.8 points per game this season. East Lake is back in action tonight, as they host Northeast High School.


2. Lakewood (17-3)

This Week: @ Largo (Mon.), @ Lakewood Ranch (Tues.)


The Lakewood Spartans are at their highest ranking of the season, as they come in this week at #2 in the Tampa Bay area. The Spartans are coming off a 3-0 week with wins over Booker, Boca Ciega & Gibbs. Senior Jamille Reynolds leads the team averaging 16.6 points & 6.3 rebounds per game this season. Lakewood is back in action tonight, as they travel to Largo High School.


3. Tampa Catholic (16-5)

This Week: @ Clearwater Central Catholic (Wed.), vs Huntington Prep (WV) (Sat.) (ARS National Hoopfest)


After defeating previously ranked #2 Berkeley Prep 68-64 on Friday night, the Crusaders find themselves at #3 in the Tampa Bay area for the first time this season. Senior Johni Broome had a game high 18 points, in their 68-64 win over Berkeley Prep last game. Tampa Catholic will be back in action on Wednesday night, as they travel to Clearwater Central Catholic.


4. Berkeley Prep (15-3)

This Week: vs Alonso (Mon.), @ Seffner Christian (Tues.), vs Huntington Prep (WV) (Fri.) (ARS National Hoopfest), vs Cornerstone Christian (TX) (Sat.) (ARS National Hoopfest)


Berkeley Prep drops from #2 to #4 in this week's Tampa Bay boys basketball rankings. The Buccaneers are coming off a 1-1 week, where they defeated Carrollwood Day 75-32 & lost to Tampa Catholic 68-64. Berkeley Prep is back in action tonight, as they host Alonso High School.


5. Tampa Prep (17-2)

This Week: vs Brooks-DeBartolo (Tues.), vs Seffner Christian (Fri.), vs Oak Ridge (Sat.) (ARS National Hoopfest)


The Tampa Prep Terrapins are back in the Top 5, after a 2-0 week with wins over Shorecrest Prep & Mitchell. Senior Gabriel Sharp is leading the team, averaging 15.7 points per game this season. Tampa Prep will continue their three-game home stretch tomorrow night, as they host Brooks-DeBartolo.


6. Riverview (14-3)

This Week: @ Spoto (Tues.), @ Gaither (Wed.), @ Hillsborough (Fri.)


The Riverview Sharks will begin a three-game road trip starting on Tuesday night, as they travel to Spoto High School. The Sharks are coming off an 0-2 week with losses to Newsome & Sarasota Riverview. The Sharks currently hold the #1 seed in District 7A-8 heading into this week.


7. Wharton (16-3)

This Week: @ Tampa Bay Tech (Tues.), @ Robinson (Thu.), vs Freedom (Fri.)


The Wharton Wildcats drop to #7 in this week's Tampa Bay Boys Basketball rankings, following a 57-54 home loss vs Sickles in their last game. The Wildcats are coming off a 2-1 week, with wins over Newsome & Armwood. Wharton will be back in action, tomorrow night as they travel to Tampa Bay Tech for a non-conference game.


8. Clearwater (16-4)

This Week: @ Boca Ciega (Mon.), vs Gibbs (Thu.)


The Clearwater Tornadoes currently sit at the #1 seed in the District 5A-10 tournament that kicks off in two weeks. Clearwater is coming off a tough 46-44 loss vs Seminole in their last game. The Tornadoes are back in action tonight, as they travel to Boca Ciega High School.


9. Blake (19-3)

This Week: @ Leto (Tues.)


The Blake Yellow Jackets come into this week, holding the #9 spot in the Tampa Bay Boys Basketball rankings. The Yellow Jackets are coming off a 3-0 week, with wins over Chamberlain, Jefferson & Bloomingdale. Sophomore Emmanuel Sharp had 37 points, in their 59-41 win over Bloomingdale in their last game. Blake is back in action tomorrow night, as they travel to Leto High School.


10. Seminole (14-5)

This Week: vs Pinellas Park (Tues.)


Welcome to the rankings for the first time this season, the Seminole Warhawks as they check in at #10. The Warhawks are coming off a 2-0 week, with wins over Palmetto & Clearwater. Seminole has now defeated two Top 10 teams this season (Wharton & Clearwater). Seminole is back in action tomorrow night, as they host Pinellas Park.
