Welcome to a fresh new week of high school baseball rankings, across the Tampa Bay area. Not a lot of movement inside the Top 10 this week. Find out where your team is ranked below.
1. Jesuit (2-0)
This Week: vs Clearwater (Wed.), vs Boca Ciega (Thu.), vs Bishop Moore (Sat.)
The Jesuit Tigers are coming off a 2-0 week, where they outscored their opponents 24-1. Junior BJ Graham leads the Tigers, currently with 3 RBI's on the young season. Jesuit will return to action on Wednesday night, as they host Clearwater High School.
2. Calvary Christian (3-0)
This Week: @ Tampa Catholic (Tues.), @ Venice (Fri.)
The Calvary Christian Warriors are coming off a 3-0 week, which includes an extra-inning win on Saturday at Lakeland Christian, who are the reigning Class 3A champions. Florida State signee Vince Smith is hitting a team best .625, with 5 runs scored this season.
3. Berkeley Prep (2-0)
This Week: @ Santa Fe Catholic (Tues.), @ McKeel Academy (Thu.), vs Clearwater Central Catholic (Fri.)
The Berkeley Prep Buccaneers come into this week, ranked #3 in the Tampa Bay area. The Buccaneers picked up wins over Lakewood Ranch & Tampa Catholic last week. Senior Alex Haire leads the team, hitting .571 & is also leading the team with four runs scored so far this season.
4. Mitchell (3-0)
This Week: @ Sunlake (Tues.), vs Sunlake (Fri.)
The Mitchell Mustangs jump up to #4 in this week's Tampa Bay High School Baseball rankings, after winning the Georgiadis Tournament Championship last weekend. The Mustangs defeated Dunedin, Northeast & Seminole along the way. Florida Gulf Coast signee Jackson Miller currently leads the team, hitting .538 (7-13) & already has 3 doubles this season. Mitchell returns to action tomorrow night, as they travel to Sunlake High School.
5. Wharton (2-0)
This Week: vs Alonso (Tues.), vs Palm Harbor University (Thu.)
The Wharton Wildcats jump up to #5 in this week's Tampa Bay High School Baseball Rankings. The Wildcats have outscored their opponents, 19-2 in their first two games of the season. Junior Dylan McDonald currently leads the team, hitting .625 & has drove in four runs on the young season. Wharton returns to action tomorrow night, as they host Alonso High School.
6. Gaither (2-0)
This Week: @ East Lake (Wed.), vs East Lake (Fri.)
The Gaither Cowboys are in the Tampa Bay High School Baseball Top 10 rankings for the first time this season, checking in at #6. The Cowboys are coming off wins over Jefferson & Chamberlain to start the season. Senior Ruben Espinal currently leads the team, hitting .500 & has drove in three runs this season.
7. Land O'Lakes (2-0)
This Week: @ Chamberlain (Tues.), @ Freedom (Thu.)
The Land O'Lakes Gators are coming off a 3-2 extra-inning win over Wesley Chapel in their last game. Senior Dakota Harris was the hero in the win, as he delivered the game-winning run. The Gators have a 0.88 team ERA so far through their first two games. Land O'Lakes is back in action tomorrow night, as they travel to Chamberlain High School.
8. Hillsborough (3-0)
This Week: @ Blake (Tues.), @ Jefferson (Thu.)
The Hillsborough Terriers are off to a 3-0 start to the young season, as they picked up wins over Middleton, Tampa Bay Tech & Plant. Junior Jack Slater leads the team, as he has driven in eight runs in their first three games of the season. Senior Trevor Jones leads the pitching staff, with a 1.75 ERA this season. Hillsborough is back in action tomorrow night, as they travel to Blake High School.
9. Steinbrenner (1-0)
This Week: vs Jefferson (Mon.). vs Plant (Tues.), @ Sickles (Thu.)
The Steinbrenner Warriors are coming off a 7-6 extra-inning win over Bloomingdale, in their last game. Junior Tyler Reynolds & senior Donovan Garcia each drove in two runs, in their win over Bloomingdale. Senior pitcher Cameron Lee threw 4 1/3 scoreless innings of relief, in their win. The Warriors are back in action tonight, as they host Jefferson High School.
10. Palm Harbor University (2-0)
This Week: @ Sickles (Tues.), @ Wharton (Thu.)
The Palm Harbor University Hurricanes are in the Tampa Bay High School Baseball rankings for the first time this season, as they check in at #10. Palm Harbor University has outscored their opponents, 26-4 in their first two games of the season. Palm Harbor University is back in action, tomorrow night as they travel to Sickles High School.
