Tampa Bay High School Basketball Top 10 Rankings (Week 3)

It's another week filled with some pretty good high school boys basketball matchups this week. A lot of movement has been made in this week's rankings. Find out where your team is ranked below.


1. East Lake (2-0)

Last Week: Defeated Seminole 86-52 & Defeated Sunlake 84-59

This Week: at Dunedin (Mon.), vs St. Petersburg (Tues.), vs Wiregrass Ranch (Fri.)


East Lake is off to a pretty solid start to the season, with wins over Seminole & Sunlake. East Lake will have three games this week, with two of them at home. Murray State commit Dionte Blanch is averaging 28.5 points per game this season for the Eagles.


2. Tampa Catholic (3-0)

Last Week: Defeated Booker 73-57, Defeated Hillsborough 84-55 & Defeated Windermere 80-64

This Week: @ Montverde Academy (Tues.), vs IMG Academy (Fri.)


The Tampa Catholic Crusaders couldn't ask for a better start, as two of their three wins last week were against teams who made it to the state semifinals last season. The Crusaders will be challenged this week facing Montverde Academy & IMG Academy, who are highly ranked in the nation. Senior forward Johni Broome is averaging 22.3 points per game to lead the team.


3. Berkeley Prep (4-0)

Last Week: Defeated Cypress Creek 91-49

This Week: vs Canterbury (Fort Myers (Sat.) (City of Palms Premier Classic)


The Berkeley Prep Buccaneers will head down to Fort Myers on Saturday afternoon for their only game this week, against one of the premier teams in Class 3A in Canterbury. The Buccaneers are averaging 72 points per game in their first four games of the season.


4. Clearwater (2-0)

Last Week: Defeated Osceola 82-22 & Defeated Northeast 81-26

This Week: vs Largo (Thu.)


The Clearwater Tornadoes started the season unranked, but with two blowout wins last week they come in at #4 in this week's rankings. The Tornaodes are averaging 81.5 points per game through their first two games. Senior Max Jones is averaging 33 points per game so far this season.


5. Tampa Prep (3-0)

Last Week: Defeated Bishop McLaughlin 68-20, Defeated Bell Creek Academy 77-18 & Defeated Academy at the Lakes 85-47

This Week: vs Out-of-Door Academy (Mon.), @ Dunedin (Thu.)


The Tampa Prep Terrapins jump from #7 to #5 in this week's rankings, with their 3-0 week last week. The Tampa Prep Terrapins are averaging 76.7 points per game so far this season through three games. Senior guard Gabriel Sharp is averaging 16 points per game this season.


6. Wharton (3-0)

Last Week: Defeated Alonso 64-35, Defeated Wiregrass Ranch 64-41 & Defeated Steinbrenner 82-48

This Week: @ Plant (Tues.), @ Lennard (Wed.), vs Strawberry Crest (Fri.)


The Wharton Wildcats are in the rankings for the first time this season, after coming off a 3-0 week. The Wildcats are allowing an average of just 41.3 points per game in their first three games this season. Wharton is back in action tomorrow night, as they travel to Plant (2-0).


7. Land O'Lakes (2-0)

Last Week: Defeated Gulf 72-38 & Defeated River Ridge 96-23

This Week: @ Cypress Creek (Tues.), @ Fivay (Fri.)


The Land O'Lakes Gators are coming into this week, fresh off of two blowout wins last week over Gulf & River Ridge. The Gators have three players who average double figures (Sophomore Jeremiah Cribbs 18 PPG, senior Chase Farmer 15 PPG & senior Mekhi Perry 11.5 PPG). The Gators will travel to Cypress Creek for the first of two games scheduled this week.


8. St. Petersburg (3-0)

Last Week: Defeated Pinellas Park 83-61, Defeated St. Petersburg Catholic 52-39 & Defeated Gibbs 66-55

This Week: @ East Lake (Tues.), vs Dixie Hollins (Wed.), @ Lakewood (Fri.)


The St. Petersburg Green Devils come into this week, off a 3-0 week with wins over Pinellas Park, St. Petersburg Catholic & Gibbs. The Green Devils will be taking on #1 East Lake tomorrow night, in a Pinellas County showdown. Junior guard Ray Perry IV leads the team averaging 15 points per game this season.


9. Nature Coast Tech (2-0)

Last Week: Defeated Citrus 52-25 & Defeated Hernando 55-44

This Week: vs Springstead (Tues.)


The Nature Coast Tech Sharks are in the rankings for the first time this season, checking in at #9. The Sharks are off to a 2-0 start with wins over Citrus & Hernando. Nature Coast Tech will be back in action, tomorrow night as they host rival Springstead.


10. Santa Fe Catholic (4-0)

Last Week: Defeated Bartow 52-48 & Defeated Seminole 63-56

This Week: vs Seffner Christian (Tues.), vs Auburndale (Thu.), vs Bishop Snyder (Sat.) (Windermere Prep Hoopfest)


The Santa Fe Catholic Hawks remain at #10 in this week's Tampa Bay Boys Basketball Rankings, despite getting wins over Bartow & Seminole last week. Senior guards Javon Bell & Joe Stubbs are each averaging 15.8 points per game this season to lead the team. Santa Fe Catholic is back in action tomorrow night, as they host Seffner Christian.
