STORY: University School 2021 OL Marcus Tate commits to Clemson

Another member of the 2021 class is off the board, as early Tuesday afternoon University School (Fort Lauderdale) offensive lineman Marcus Tate has announced he is committing to Clemson University. Tate chose Clemson over Alabama, LSU, Miami & several others.


Tate, is listed as a 6'5, 325 pound offensive tackle, who held a whopping total of 21 offers throughout his recruiting process. Tate is a 4-star commit & is ranked as the 79th overall prospect in the nation for the 2021 class, as well as the 14th ranked offensive tackle in the nation & the 10th ranked prospect in the state of Florida, according to 247Sports.


Tate, most recently visited Clemson for their game vs Texas A&M a couple weeks ago, where he told Anna Hickey of 247Sports, "Clemson was my favorite place, where the coaches, the staff & the facility, made me feel loved."


Tate, is the 5th commit for Clemson in the 2021 class & the 2nd offensive linemen, as he joins Damascus (Maryland) center Ryan Linthicum, as he committed to Clemson yesterday. Tate is also the 1st member from the Sunshine State to commit to Clemson in the 2021 class, but he will join Lakeland running back DeMarkcus Bowman, Trinity Christian (Jacksonville) defensive back Fred Davis & Lincoln (Tallahassee) tight end Sage Ennis as members of the Sunshine State, who are all 2020 commits.


Tate, also made visits with Alabama, Auburn, Georgia Tech & LSU along his recruiting process, but he said "None of them were where I wanted to spend my college football days, compared to Clemson."


Clemson, currently has the 5th ranked recruiting class in the nation & the 2nd ranked recruiting class in the ACC, for the class of 2021.
