Another member of the Tampa Bay area is expected to join Georgia Tech's football team in the fall of 2020.
Robinson (Tampa, Fla.) kicker/punter Steven Verdisco is the latest Tampa area native to join the Yellow Jackets, after Plant (Tampa, Fla.) quarterback Tucker Gleason announced he was committed to Georgia Tech back in May.
Verdisco visited with Georgia Tech this past weekend for their game vs South Florida & said "I enjoyed every minute of my visit in the 404". "The coaches & the atmosphere was just amazing", Verdisco said after the visit.
Verdisco is the 45th ranked kicker & the 38th ranked punter in the nation, according to Kohl's Kicking. Verdisco competed at the Kohl's Kicking camp back in July, where he averaged 69 yards per kickoff & averaged 42 yards per punt, with a 4.01 second hang time.
In 2 games so far this season for Robinson, Verdisco has had 9 punts & is averaging 35 yards per punt, with a long of 48 yards.
Verdisco joins Trinity Christian Academy cornerback Miles Brooks, Deerfield Beach wide receiver Bryce Gowdy, Lennard offensive lineman Michael Rankins, Plant quarterback Tucker Gleason, Crestview offensive lineman Cade Kootsouradis, South Miami defensive end Khaya Wright & Godby wide receiver Avery Boyd as members of the Sunshine State for the 2020 recruiting class.
Georgia Tech has the 26th ranked recruiting class in the nation for the class of 2020 & the 5th ranked recruiting class in the ACC, according to 247Sports.
