On Thursday night, Scott Frost & his Nebraska Cornhuskers landed a commit from the South Florida area, as Miami Central defensive back Henry Gray committed to Nebraska. Gray chose Nebraska over Miami, Alabama, Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Boston College & several others. Gray was originally committed to the University of Miami, before decommitting last December.
Gray was supposed to also visit with the University of Florida this weekend for their game vs Tennessee, but since his commitment to Nebraska occured last night, it is looking very unlikely he will take a trip to The Swamp. Gray was recruited by defensive backs coach Travis Fisher, who has a lot of connections for recruits in Florida, after playing his college football days at UCF.
Gray, is ranked the 201st best prospect in the nation, along with the 12th best cornerback in the nation & the 32nd ranked prospect in the state of Florida, according to 247Sports.
Gray, on his commitment to Nebraska. "The atmosphere was crazy, the 90,000+ fans in Lincoln were full of energy." Miami Central head coach Corey White, on Gray's commitment. "I couldn't be more proud of him, Nebraska is a good school with a good staff, I'm sure he'll fit in perfectly in the Big Ten."
Gray is the 3rd commit in the class of 2020 from the Sunshine State, as he joins Spruce Creek running back Marvin Scott III & Evans (Orlando) defensive back Tamon Lynum. Nebraska has a total of 11 commits for the 2020 class & are ranked 38th in the nation, as well as 10th in the Big Ten.
