On Wednesday night, Coastal Carolina landed their 11th commit for the class of 2020. Lakeland offensive lineman Willie Lampkin chose the Chanticleers over Appalachian State, Bowling Green, Middle Tennessee, Southern Miss & South Florida.
However, Lampkin did visit with Coastal Carolina last weekend, just as Hurricane Dorian was approaching the area within the next few days. Lampkin is listed as a 6'1, 288 pound prospect & is currently unranked in the 247Sports' composite rankings.
Lampkin joins Lake Nona defensive back Manny Stokes as the two Coastal Carolina commits to come from the Sunshine State, as Stokes announced his commitment back in July.
However, Coastal Carolina has the 116th ranked recruiting class for the Class of 2020, according to 247Sports.
Last season, Lampkin recorded just 46 total tackles last season for Lakeland, as they defeated St. Thomas Aquinas, 33-20 & won their 7th football state championship in school history.
