On Wednesday afternoon, one of the highest ranked recruited players in the nation has a new future home. IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) five-star guard Jaden Springer announced on SportsCenter, he is committing to the University of Tennessee.
Springer chose the University of Tennessee over Memphis, Michigan, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kansas & several others.
Springer is currently ranked as the 16th best prospect in the nation, the 4th shooting guard in the nation & the 4th overall ranked prospect in the state of Florida for the 2020 class, according to 247Sports.com.
Springer, is listed as a 6'5, 195 pound shooting guard who held a total of 19 offers throughout his recruiting process. Springer also took visits to Memphis, Michigan & Tennessee during the process.
Springer most recently visited with the University of Tennessee, where he told 247Sports' "I felt like it was the best fit for me, I can come in right away & make a impact for the coaching staff & most importantly the program."
Springer was a member of IMG Academy last year that won the GEICO National tournament that was held in New York City last spring.
Springer is also a member of B.MAZE Elite, based out of Knoxville, Tennessee during the AAU circuit, where he averaged 21.1 points per game & nearly seven rebounds per game for them last year.
Springer now joins his teammates forward Jalen Johnson (Duke commit) & forward Mikael Brown-Jones (VCU commit), as committed division one prospects to hail from IMG Academy.
