On Monday night, Appalachian State men's basketball lands their 2nd commit in the 2020 class, in Edgewater (Orlando) shooting guard Michael Eads.
Eads chose Appalachian State over Oklahoma State, Stetson, Towson, Wake Forest & several others. Eads plays for the Team Parsons CP25 Select team during the travel season, where he is coached by Jemel Daniels & plays under head coach Jason Atherton at Edgewater High School.
Eads did not take any official visits during his recruiting process, but he says "Appalachian State just felt like the right move & they made me feel at home."
As a junior, Eads averaged 16.8 points per game, 9.3 rebounds per game & 2.7 assists per game, leading the Eagles to a 20-7 record last season, leading Edgewater to a district semifinal, losing to eventual District 8A-5 runner-ups Ocoee.
Eads is listed as a 6'5, 200 pound shooting guard & is currently unranked among the top prospects in the state of Florida, according to 247Sports & Rivals.
Eads, is the first commit from the Sunshine State to join Appalachian State men's basketball head coach Dustin Kerns' Mountaineers.
