On Monday night, the Florida Gators received their 6th commit from the 2021 class & the 3rd commit from the Sunshine State. Dunbar (Fort Myers) defensive tackle Christopher Thomas announced via his Twitter account that he is committing to the Florida Gators. Thomas chose Florida over Florida State, Indiana, Maryland, Purdue, Rutgers, Southern Miss & Texas A&M.
Thomas, is listed as a 6'5, 280 pound defensive tackle & was recruited to join the University of Florida, by defensive line coach David Turner.
Thomas took an unofficial visit to Florida State back in June, where he told Curt Weiler, of the Tallahassee Democrat "It was so overwhelming of a visit, that I got a headache." "My whole family was excited for me to hopefully be a future Nole", Thomas added.
Thomas, is playing in his first season at Dunbar High School, after spending his first two seasons at Rickards High School in Tallahassee.
Thomas, joins St. Thomas Aquinas defensive end Tyreek Sapp & IMG Academy offensive tackle George Jackson, as members from the Sunshine State in the 2021 class. The Gators have the 5th ranked recruiting class in the nation & the top ranked recruiting class in the SEC for the 2021 class, according to 247Sports.
