STORY: City of Palms Classic announces field for the 46th Annual tournament

FORT MYERS, Fla.- On Wednesday afternoon, the 46th annual City of Palms Classic field was announced at a press conference, presented by City of Palms Classic president Donnie Wilkie. The tournament will be held from December 18-23, 2019 at Suncoast Credit Union Arena in Fort Myers.


The reigning champs McEachern (Georgia) will make a return to this year's classic that also features some of the top ranked teams in the nation. The reigning Geico National Champions from IMG Academy will also be making an appearance for the second consecutive year. Montverde Academy will be back at the City of Palms Classic for the first time since 2016, who are led by head coach Kevin Boyle. Lehigh will also be appearing in this year's City of Palms Classic, who are led by 4th year head coach Greg Coleman who return 8 players from last year's final four team.


Other notable Florida teams playing in this year's classic will be Fort Myers, Riverview (Sarasota) & Blanche Ely. Both Fort Myers & Riverview will be under first year head coaches this year.


Lehigh will be playing Venice in the first annual Hugh Thimlar Memorial Game on Monday, December 23 at Suncoast Credit Union Arena in Fort Myers.


Some notable players to watch in this year's City of Palms Classic will feature IMG Academy 2020 SF Jalen Johnson (Duke commit), IMG Academy 2020 SG Jaden Springer (Uncommitted), Venice 2020 SF Malachi Wideman (FSU Football commit), Montverde Academy 2020 CG Cade Cunningham (Holds interest from Florida, Kentucky, UNC, Oklahoma State & Washington), Montverde Academy 2020 SF Scottie Barnes (Holds interest from California, Duke, Florida State, Kansas, Kentucky, Miami, Oregon & Ohio State)
