On Wednesday morning, Marshall has landed one of the best offensive linemen in not just the Tampa Bay area, but in the state of Florida as a whole. Berkeley Prep offensive tackle Zach Perkins announced his commitment, on his social media, choosing Marshall over schools such as Austin Peay, Bowling Green, Campbell, Charlotte, Colorado State & several others.
Perkins, is listed as a 6'4, 321 pound offensive tackle & is a 3-star prospect, according to 247Sports. Perkins is just the 6th Marshall commit in the class of 2020 & the first to come from the Sunshine State. The Thundering Herd currently hold the 126th ranked recruiting class in the nation, for the 2020 class & the 13th ranked recruiting class in Conference-USA.
Perkins, visited with Marshall this past weekend & said, "I fell in love with the campus, the coaches, the staff & the facility." Perkins had a total of 22 offers throughout the recruiting process, with 6 of those offers being from a power five conference.
Perkins is also the 154th ranked offensive tackle in the nation & the 209th ranked prospect in the state of Florida, according to 247Sports.
