On Friday afternoon, an Ivy League school has landed a quarterback from the Sunshine State. Fletcher (Neptune Beach, Fla.) quarterback Devon Lingle has announced via his Twitter account he plans to attend Dartmouth University. Lingle chose Dartmouth over Appalachian State, Arkansas State, Bowling Green, Brown, Central Michigan & several others.
Lingle had a total of 24 division one offers from power 5 to mid-major schools. Lingle is the 49th ranked pro-style quarterback in the nation, according to 247 Sports & is also ranked 183rd in the nation, among all position players. Lingle's 2018 stats are not applicable according to MaxPreps.
Lingle is the 1st commit in the Class of 2020 for Dartmouth, but he will join St. Thomas Aquinas wide receiver Jamal Cooney & Berkeley Prep tight end Zion Carter as representives from the Sunshine State.
