On Sunday evening, one of the most premier linebackers in Palm Beach county, is heading to play for The Valley conference. Palm Beach Lakes linebacker Vincent Starling Jr. announced on his Twitter account, he is committing to the University of South Dakota.
Starling Jr. chose South Dakota over schools such as USF, Alabama State, Arkansas State, Boston College, Florida State, Georgia State, Liberty & several others. Starling was originally committed to USF back in July, before de-committing just before his senior season began.
Starling Jr, was mentioned by the Palm Beach Post's Super 11 team as one of the 11 players to watch for in Palm Beach county this season.
Starling Jr, has led Palm Beach Lakes to a 4-0 start to the 2019 season, with wins over Wellington, Glades Central, Royal Palm Beach & Pahokee. According to Ryan DiPentima of the Palm Beach Post, "Starling Jr. is one of the most talented & hard-hitting defensive players I've ever seen play."
Starling, is listed as a 6'3, 192 pound linebacker, as well as a 3-star prospect, according to 247Sports. Starling is the 74th ranked linebacker in the nation & the 137th overall prospect in the state of Florida, according to 247Sports.
Starling Jr. is the 8th overall commit for South Dakota in the Class of 2020, and the first to come from the Sunshine State, but he will join Jefferson safety Cori Fant & East Bay defensive end Jontrell Oliver.
